National Commander-in-Chief Cup
The National Commander-in-Chief Cup is an annual competition held between the branches. Each branch forms a team of their best players to battle in the arena. It is held in a split string format, meaning each team will play the same horses in alternating chukkars. This levels the playing field and truly tests each rider's horsemanship abilities as well as their mallet talent on the same caliber of horse.
Commander-in-Chief Cup: Intro to Polo Clinic
Come try the exhilarating game of polo… the world´s oldest sport first developed to keep warriors and their horses ready for combat! The Military Equestrian Foundation will host a free polo clinic annually to introduce military personnel to polo. Instruction on the rules of the game and how to play safely. Learn to hit the ball, and how to ride, polo style!
The USPA Churchill-Roosevelt Cup Series
The Churchill-Roosevelt Cup series is a salute to Prime Minister Winston Churchill and President Theodore Roosevelt, both famous leaders who served gallantly in their respective country’s military and who were avid polo players. The teams competing are expected to be serving military personnel from the United Kingdom and the United States. It is a reciprocal series to the Chapple Cup Series of three polo matches played in the United Kingdom by US military personnel.
U.S. ARMED SERVICES TRAVEL TO THE U.K.
The USPA Armed Forces Committee receives a formal invitation to assemble their a military team to travel to the UK for the three- match series Chapple Cup that is held bi-annually. The US team faces off against experienced players of the U.K. Armed Forces Polo Association in some friendly yet competitive rivalry matches.
DISTRICT CUP
Members of the MEF teamed up with Liberty Hall to play in the District Cup. It is a special event that gives players the unique possibility to polo on America’s front yard, the National Mall in Washington DC, while attendees are able to watch the oldest team sport known.
